Kids Stuck In Father’s Shadow

Offspring Who Failed To Hit The Heights Of Their Fathers

6 min read

Julian / Sean Lennon

This is almost unfair to include. It’s an impossible task and Julian did as well as you can do in the circumstances. If there was no John, then Julian would be considered a very good artist with a couple of big hits in the 90’s. Yet there was a John Lennon and the younger’s hit parade is phenomenally dwarfed by his Dad’s 17 number ones.

His brother, Sean, was the rich kid that grew up in New York, Tokyo and Switzerland and you just know that what ever he wanted to do, it was going to happen, so naturally an album was forthcoming.

This is what happens when you’re not honest with a kid about their talent. Thanks for that dumpster fire, Yoko.

Trying his hand at small film scripts and sports articles, but once his son, Billy, was born he found his niche writing about the ridiculousness of Fatherhood. As he watches his kid enter each Developmental Leap (and Developmental Face Plant) he will look to avoid the ever-present terror we all know and wring out inappropriate laughs wherever he can.
